A fine Cast-Iron and Silver-Gilt Bronze Inlay Ruyi Scepter
Description
The ¡§ling zhi¡¨ shaped head decorated with a central medallion depicting a five-clawed dragon in silver with a gilt-bronze inlayed flaming pearl, within clouds. The rest of the head finely inlayed with the ¡§wan¡¨ diaper within a double band border.
The front of the shaft inlayed with five quatrefoil reserves, each with another set of five-clawed dragons and flaming pearls, as on the head, all on ¡§wan¡¨ diaper ground. The back with silver-inlayed archaistic characters within a double border. The elegantly curved shaft ending in a double silver inlayed ¡§ruyi¡¨.
